We are very pleased to introduce you to our new and improved OJS site, http://revistas.udistrital.edu.co/ojs/index.php/calj/index. This site contains all current and previews articles published in the journal since 2003, CALJ’s announcements, and information about the journal.
It will also give us a chance to improve the publication process internally, merging the submission, review and editing process in one single platform, simplifying and speeding the whole process.
We will start using OJS in our future issues, but meanwhile we all need to get familiar with the process, so please register in the site stating your role in CALJ (one member can have more than one role) and take a close look to the user guide http://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs_documentation which will help you understand the system better .
We believe the Open Journal System is a good way to improve the visibility of the journal and your published articles; having more access to the journal will help consolidate the research and teaching community. It is also an important tool that will help us to improve our publishing process and keep our quality standards.

The Colombian Applied Linguistics Journal, CALJ, is a publication of the College of Sciences and Education, master’s Program in Applied Linguistics of Universidad Distrital in Bogotá, Colombia. It is published twice a year for professionals of Education interested in research and teaching issues in the field of Applied Linguistics for the Teaching of English. CALJ is mainly concerned with informing the community about current completed and ongoing research relevant to teaching and learning English as a foreign language, sharing theoretical discussion papers, and presenting reflections on the praxis of language teaching.
The call for papers for Volume 13, No. 2 to be published in November, 2011 is for all those who may be interested in publishing an article that has resulted from a culminated or ongoing research project, a pedagogical innovation, or theoretical review. The guidelines for writers can be found on our Facebook page or by emailing the journal.
